Feel free to thank any appropriate deities, but please note that the
tendency to refuse to listen to critiques of the results of the
sharper end of what passes these days for "foreign policy" isn't
exactly an American phenomenon.

A perfectly human response. Wrong in many ways, but understandable.
You may want to think for a while over Scott's response "By admit it
or get it do you mean "change their views so they are in exact
accordance with your own"? - because no one forms their views in
isolation.
