Dutch mobile phone in Japan
Dear all,
I have been away from Japan now so long that I need your help.
It is again about using my mobile phone in Japan.
I have a Dutch GSM and know that Japan does not have a GSM network.
I thought of buying a new UMTS phone (which is quite expensive) but now
heard that there is something you can put into your own mobile phone so that
you can use it in Japan as well.
The problem is I did not understand what that "something" is, because I
heard it from someone who had heard it from someone else again.
Ofcourse I can phone the Dutch "NTT" tomorrow, but after the Easter Holiday
tomorrow it will take ages to get through and I may end up with someone who
hardly knows about this problem.
(I once phoned them about the faxt that SMS to Japan did not get through and
they had not the faintest idea what I was talking about.
A reader of this group was then so kind to explain that SMS cannot be send
to Japan from a Dutch GSM.)
I did check their site but got more confused than I already was.
Why can't they make things easy to understand.
So if anyone of you has an idea what this solution could be, I would be very
happy.
Thank you.
Giny
