I have a tecra 8000, I had win xp on it and it slowed it down to being
useless. I decided to re-install the original software that came on the
toshiba disk.
It all went well until win 95 asked for the serial # for the disk. I lost
that years ago. Phoned toshiba - no support anymore for that model - to
old.
I got a win98 disk and # and tried to install that - no go, stick on asking
for w95 #.
I C-alt-del enough to get it to ask me if I want to start in safe mode etc.
I start in dos and format hd (format\s) , now I cannot get to the cd drive
to install w98.
It is like the system does not know there is a d: drive.
I am unable to install anything.....
any ideas?
The a: drive broke about 3 years ago so I can't use that option.
My youngest daughter was looking forward to getting her own computer. I
don't know why, but... I can remember when I bought my first one (vic 20),
I didn't know why I wanted it then, and still don't.

It is an invention of civilization.
