Back in the old ms-dos days, spin-rite was considered one of the best
data recovery tools.

Still available at http://www.spinrite.com/

Probably most of the data is recoverable; hopefully only the file
allocation tables have some blanks in it (signifying the file is deleted),
and all the data is still on the drive.

Good Luck!  Spin-Rite will find the data if it's there.
