Officially, yes, one fell swoop. Obviously little bits trickled
in here and there, and I think it was 'eased' a couple of times, but 
Japanese culture was more or less forbidden to sell, broadcast, etc. 
within Korea. I don't think they stopped folks at the border or 
anything, but the principal was there. When I lived in Korea in 1993 one 
of my friends was very proud when he got ahold of a second-hand copy of 
Miyazawa Rie's tantalazing photo spread.
