Guest/gaijin houses would of course be cheaper, but trying to live with
others can be irritating. Maybe I'll go to a gaijin house first and see
if it works out.

Going out at night would be good, at least once a week. I've heard there
are all you can drink (nomihoudai?) places which make drunkening cheaper.
I've travelled enough in Japan, I would be happy to stay in Tokyo and
explore it in more depth.
