Unfortunately, far too many young gaijin listen to him.  Some eventually see him for the hypocrite and blow-hard that he is.  Others have their noses so far up his butt, they can only see Japan through the same shit-coloured glasses that he wears.

I have seen no evidence that he has any contact with any non-English speaking minority groups in Japan that actually DO something for the benefit of the truly down trodden in Japan.  Those groups actually try to convince the natives that some things ought to change by using the local patois as opposed to whinging in English on Debito's blog about how shitty their lives are and it is all the fault of the institutionalised racism of Japanese society.

You really are FAR better off NOT reading his stuff.  Most of it is so forehead smackingly crazy, you will end up with a concave head and eye strain from your eyes rolling over and over at the level of stupidity.
