hmmm... how do you explain folk music? You really have to hear it...
By the way, the link that Ryan mentioned points to one particular style
of contemporary Okinawan music that may not qualify as folk music (at
least not yet - until it has become common cultural property), but it's
probably still uniquely Okinawan, and, anyway, it's pretty.
