Every little boy ought to learn how to sew on buttons, at least. 

It's all in the presentation--I once found myself teaching a group of
little girls how to make dolls out of knitting wool. One small boy kept
hovering until he asked if he could make a little man too. Once I
started calling them "little men" instead of "dolls", I found the boys
were joining in too....
