At E3 2005 we saw a pre-rendered CG video of Jin, as the next-
generation of Tekken, used to hype the PS3.

It was clear that this CG render would be impossible to realize in
realtime, unless the PS3 had an NV50 / G80
(GeForce 8800) in it, as its GPU, which PS3 sure as hell does NOT
have
(PS3's RSX is a customized and -downgraded- NV47 / G70 / G71)

then in 2006, Namco goes in the opposite direction, shows us a
realtime video of Tekken 6 for PS3 with graphics barely any better
than what we've seen from the turbo-charged PS2-based arcade System
256 used for Tekken 5 and Tekken 5: DR (recently released in 1080p for
PS3 as a download)

Now from the AOU show comes the real arcade Tekken 6. Nobody seems
to know the name of the arcade system that Tekken 6 is using, yet, but
it almost has to be PS3-based, as all arcade Tekken games are based on
PS1/PS2 arcade boards (System 11, System 246 respectively)
or enhanced PS1/PS2 boards (System 12, System 256 respectively)

without further delay......

obviously the real Tekken 6 does not rival the E3 2005 prerendered
teaser, but looks better than the crap shown at E3 2006. I'm betting
Tekken 6 stays PS3-exclusive, does not go multi-platform like VF5 is,
but one never knows in this climate of PS3 not doing too well and
fierce competition this generation.
