Invitation to the GLOBAL YOUTH SERVICE DAY 2006

Greetings Ka-tinig!

Voice of the Youth (VOTY) Network, in partnership with United Nations
Volunteers (UNV) Philippines - the National Lead Agency for this
year's Global Youth Service Days (GYSD), would like to invite you and
your organization, to work and be part of us in this celebration. VOTY
is on its third year of celebrating this annual event in the
Philippines.

GYSD is the largest annual celebration of young volunteers, where
millions of young people in countries everywhere highlight and carry
out thousands of community improvement projects - from little efforts
to nationwide scope. As the largest volunteering event in the world, it
will be an opportunity for your organization to participate in this
year's event as hundreds of organizing committees composed of
schools, faith-based groups, and youth-related organizations will work
together to support and achieve the United Nation's Millennium
Development Goals (MDG's). This year's celebration aims to inspire
the youth that positive social change in the society could be achieve
through the synergy, convergence and collaborative efforts of
organizations. Activities could be related to any advocacies for ICT,
Media and Entertainment, Environment, Health, Entrepreneurship,
Education, Peace and Order, Fellowship, Arts and Culture and/or Sports.

In line with this, we would like to invite you to attend a meeting to
exchange views and further discuss the activities we plan to undertake
during the GYSD. The meeting will be held on Thursday, 9 March 2006,
1:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the UNDP conference room, 30/F Yuchenco Tower 1,
RCBC Plaza, Ayala Avenue, Makati City.

You may adapt any suggested activities listed here from A-Z which
promote service, learning, and most especially volunteerism, and/or you
could propose your own. There are just little things we need to do to
contribute to the solutions and we need not always think of bigger
ones.
