On the title question, "So which is better french culture or US culture?", why choose? The world would be poorer without Broadway, Hollywood, Sartre, or Finkielkraut (just to pick some random things I know of). More still, I feel that if you insist on writing off so much of world knowledge, then your culture is very limited indeed. Having said that, when choosing what to read, just follow your tastes. But don't ask me to have the same ones: des gouts et des couleurs il ne faut point discuter. Charles
