They charge a one-time set-up fee of $3.95, and you are limited to 50Mb
per day, but frankly that's more than you ever need for text groups. If
you want to download lots of pr0n I guess it's a bit limited. The fee
really is one-time (they only charged me once, and I check every entry on
my credit card statement). The free service is very occasionally
unavailable, but I've had no more problems with it than with my ISP's news
servers back in the UK.
