I am hoping someone might be able to help me or perhaps point me in the right direction. I have been living in Japan for some time and recently returned back to the UK. Upon arriving my grandfather gave me a postcard sent to my familt by my great great aunt who visited Japan in 1912. It was of Miyajima where I visited not so long ago. We are at a loss (and intrigued) as to what she was doing in Japan or who she was with. We don't think she was very wealthy so I am wondering if she was a companion to someone. I appreciate that this kind of enquiry is perhaps outside of your remits but were you to know of any organisation that catalogues the history of anglo-japanese relations I would be most grateful for their details Kind Regards Zoe Woods
