Not if he truly becomes Japanese. First he'd have to dodge and come up
with any number of reasons why it's okay, stuff like, 'apologize to a
gaigin? They'll all go home soon anyway.' Then if it came down to
needing to apologize he'd have to wear a suit and bow very low in front
of news cameras shouting (or sobbing) summimasen over and over. But
that process takes a while.
